About Me
I am a high-school student who hopes to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. To that end, I’ve done a lot of engineering projects (or “random crap”, whatever you want to call it), which I post on this blog. I also enjoy fixing things and taking things apart because it helps me understand how things work. In that vein, I’ve refurbished multiple typewriters, and also regularly attend local Repair Café and Fixit Clinic events. Most of my projects involve making things out of readily-available materials, even if it’s much more economical to buy them, which forces me to consider a lot of the little details involved in getting something done from scratch.
I attend Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto, CA, class of 2026. See my academic résumé here, and email me at me@jacobchiu.com to request private documents, like my transcript.
